2022 Red Claw Pinot Noir

Yabby Lake’s second label, Red Claw, regularly delivers great value across the range. 2022 was a vintage of tiny yields, the lowest in Yabby Lake's history.  This was due to severe storms during flowering.  However, the positive is the wines are of exceptional quality - they are intense, with incredible balance and persistence. Produced with the inclusion of 10% whole bunch fruit the wine was matured in French oak puncheons for 10 months.

A wonderfully fleshed, ripe, juicy Mornington Peninsula Pinot.

Dark red core with black toned edges and a red to dark red hue. Perfumed violet like aromas captivate the olfactory senses, intermingling with dark cherry, ripe strawberry, subtle anise, toasty cedar and spicy fresh herb notes along the way. Riper and slightly fuller in body than your typical Mornington Pinot, the wonderfully fleshy palate features rich dark cherry and strawberry fruits over an anise, toasty cedar, dried herb and spice background. Amply powered and silky textured it has velvet smooth tannins and finishes long, perfectly ripe and supple.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
