2022 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Bourbon Barrel Aged Chardonnay

In the style of Fat Bastard Chardonnay but showing greater concentration and depth, this rendition of Robert Mondavi Chardonnay sees a portion of the wine aged in American oak bourbon barrels for a period of 8 months to impart a rich, toasty flavour. It also undergoes malolactic fermentation to foster a full, creamy mouthfeel.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Intense ripe peach and apricot scents engulf the nostrils trailed by honeycomb, bacon fat, crème brulee and spicy nougat notes. Rich, creamy textured and concentrated, ripe peach, apricot and honeycomb flavours have a mouth filling effect with bacon fat, roasted almond, crème brulee and vanilla spice the back drop. Measured acidity brings balance to the long, full and luscious finish.
