2022 San Moro Negroamaro

Cantine San Marzano is a co-op that has been specializing in Primitvio and Negroamro since its inception in the 1960’s. The town of San Marzano is where it all began on a strip of land between the seas that wash over Puglia.
Today, they work with about 400 growers, and have access to the finest fruit from nearly 1000 hectares of vine from a suite of classic Puglian varieties, though it is their Primitivo and Negroamaro that is the most highly prized. At just 100 metres above sea level, the vines soak up the warming southern suns producing a rich and flavourful Negroamaro that offers stunningly good value.
Deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Lifted morello cherry, black plum and liquorice scents intermix with scorched earth and vanillin spice notes. Rich morello to black cherry, liquorice and black plum fruits carry plenty of flesh and weight with some scorched earth, vanilla and subtle cinnamon spice characters lurking underneath. Lush, juicy mouth feel with slightly chewy tannins. Generous fruit loaded finish. Great value.
