2022 Thompson Estate Chardonnay

Matured in a mixture of new and older French oak barriques with regular batonage for a period of nine and a half months. Brilliant very pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Showing ample intensity are delightful aromas of white peach, dried honey and biscuity nougat followed by some nectarine, delicate cashew, crème brulee and a whiff of gun flint. Rich and shapely the gorgeous palate is layered with fleshy white peach and nectarine fruits which overlay a dried honey, biscuity nougat, citrus and crème brulee back drop. Beautifully integrated acidity lends a lick of freshness to the long refined and gently creamed finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
