2022 Wirra Wirra Catapult Shiraz

Matured in approximately 70% French and 30% American oak of which 20% was new. Impenetrable pitch black heart with a deep vibrant dark red black tinged hue. Evolving out of the glass are ripe blackberry and liquorice scents followed by some dark plum, toasty vanillin cedar and peppered earth notes. Rich blackberry, liquorice and spicy dark plum fruits carry ample weight and flesh over a back drop of vanillin cedar and pepper. Slightly inky feel with fine grained tannins, youthfully bright acidity and a deeply fruited pepper laced finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

No new oak, allowing notes of blueberries, dried purple flowers and anise to spread long and broad across the full-bodied palate. Another excellent value from a winery on the rise. Drink or hold.
