2023 Amelia Park Chardonnay
Amelia Park Wines, established in 2009 by Jeremy and Daniela Gordon and Peter Walsh, is located in the heart of Western Australia's renowned Margaret River wine region. Winemaker and co-owner Jeremy Gordon combines traditional techniques with modern innovation, believing that great wines begin in the vineyard with superior fruit quality. The resulting wines are elegant, fruit-driven, and complex in structure while remaining effortlessly enjoyable.
The 2023 Chardonnay, sourced from the Wilyabrup sub-region, is crafted from a blend of Gin Gin, Davis, and Dijon clones. Hand-picked and chilled overnight, the whole bunches were gently pressed, naturally settled, and transferred to French oak barrels for wild fermentation. The wine matured on lees for nine months with minimal stirring to preserve freshness and acidity. Aged in French oak for eight months, this Chardonnay is enjoyable now but will also reward careful cellaring.
Other Reviews....
The nose is pure and expressive with integrated notes of macadamia nuts, lemon peel and gunsmoke. The medium-bodied palate has crisp acidity and long, lingering notes of lime curd, grapefruit rind and sea spray. Refined and polished. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
