Creamy and fresh with flowing tannins, vibrant cherry fruit, and excellent length.

Matured for 15 months on yeast lees in French oak barrels, 1/3 being new oak. Sourced from vines planted in 1988, the 2023 vintage has a fragrant nose with red and black cherry aromas, while the palate is creamy, fresh, and full, with excellent length driven by fruit weight and fine, flowing tannins.

Other Reviews....
The ethereal 2023 Pinot Noir Original Vineyard, made from 35-year-old vines, teases with cherry pit, dried herbs, dark earth and ground spice scents. It is fresh and lively, with beautifully balanced wild strawberry and cherry flavors topped by peppery spice and underpinned by silky integrated tannins. A gentle grip and tension to finish will provide solid aging potential. Drink 2025 - 2035.

Angus Hughson - Antonio Galloni's Vinous

A lighter, cooler feel about this wine, full of exotic spices, Moroccan mint, twiggy and stalky with rose petals, just-ripe cherries and blood orange. Flavours ebb and flow; there’s an elegance and lift, the palate lighter framed with fine sandpaper tannins and raspberry sorbet acidity. A lovely wine. Drink 2025 - 2035.

Deeply perfumed aromas of wild raspberries, dried strawberries, graphite, citrus peel and dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of cherries, plums, blueberries and cassia bark. A wonderful balance of power and restraint, with such a high level of complexity and tension. Drink or hold.
