Planted in the early 1970's Bream Creek is amongst the earliest commercial vineyards planted in Tasmania. Fruit was initially sold to Moorilla Estate up until 1990 when the vineyard was purchased by Fred Peacock who established the Bream Creek brand and then went about increasing the plantings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fred also introduced Sauvignon Blanc and planted the first commercial block of Schönburger in the Southern Hemisphere.
Dark red in colour with black shaded edges and a vibrant purple red hue. Gorgeous violet, ripe cherry and strawberry aromas sail through the nostrils with plenty of intensity trailed by some anise, fresh herb, subtle forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Juicy dark cherry, anise, red plum and rhubarb flavours flood the mouth with spicy cedar, dried herb and forest floor elements lingering beneath. Fresh, supple feel with polished tannins finishing long, moreishly fruited and spicy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews…..
I only recently reviewed the 2022 Bream Creek Pinot Noir, and I can say that this 2023 is a much finer iteration of this wine.
Cherry, raspberry, kind of succulent, but fresh too, with some spice, perfume, and quiet autumnal notes. It’s medium-bodied, plenty of juicy cherry and raspberry flavour, spiced plum, a pleasing sort of floral mouth-perfume, fine-grained tannin, and a finish of very good length, a little twist of orange peel bitterness to close. I can’t quite decide on 93 or 94 points, but either way, it’s a strong vintage for this wine. Drink 2024-2030+
