2023 Buckshot Vineyard Heathcote Shiraz

Rich, succulent Heathcote Shiraz that carries a plush yet vibrant feel.

Established in 1999 by Rob and Meegan Peebles, this small Heathcote vineyard consists of 5 acre planting of Shiraz and 1 acre plot of Zinfandel that are grown on Heathcote’s famed Cambrian quartz and ironstone soils. Small, low yielding crops of 2 to 2.5 tons per acre ensure great flavour intensity.
Midnight black heart with a deep dark purple hue. Freshly crushed blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and ripe blueberry scents elevate their way out of the glass with plenty of intensity. Some spicy vanillin cedar and peppered earth notes are also evident. Rich and succulent the palate is awash with blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Opulent yet fresh, it’s both intense and powerful. Spicy vanillin oak, blueberry, earth and peppered fennel characters are layered across the back half. Polished tannins with a long plush yet vibrant finish.
