Flavoursome, gently creamy mid weighted Chardonnay.

Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of white peach and nectarine are intermeshed with hints of dried honey, subtle biscuity cashew and faint gun flint notes. Gently creamy in its textural feel the mid weighted palate features white peach, dried honey and cashew flavours over a biscuity nougat and spice back drop. Long, refined spicy cashew draped finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews…..
The fruit for this excellent chardonnay comes from various vineyards in the Great Southern in what was a superb year. It’s a fine and delicately structured wine with terrific flavour intensity throughout. Notes of typical floral white peach, minerals and a trace of popcorn character all captured in the opening. The palate is finely balanced with texture and intensity. A slightly flinty struck match character lurking behind completes a beautiful palate. Cellar 10 years.

A mix of vineyards from Albany, Denmark and Mt Barker, and a set of clones that includes WA’s renowned Gin Gin variation. The 2023 ripening season was colder and longer than average, and the fruit clearly appreciated it, coming from the glass at first with plenty of fruit punch and tight, earthy aromatics, followed by a surging palate wave of spiced peach and yellow grapefruit flavours. That spice is a subtle ginger thrill – thank the Gin Gin clone for that – as well as nuanced French oak in support, 35% of that new and humbly supportive. Now we add up all of this and the sum is bloody delicious, bright and refreshing wine that celebrates the Chardonnay grape in this particular regional home with a most respectful touch of winemaking. Bravo.
