Wild fermented with a small portion of whole bunches included then matured in a combination of new and old French oak barriques and puncheons.
Dark red core with black toned edges and a vibrant purple red tinged hue. Aromas of violets, red to dark cherries and anise intermix with vanillin cedar, forest floor and fresh herb notes. Fresh and juicy the palate is awash with vibrant red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits which are infused with fresh herbs, forest floor and delicate spicy cedar elements. Polished tannins concluding bright and savoury.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.2%

Other Reviews....
Coal River Valley, born of six individual blocks and five different pinot noir clones with the addition of some whole bunch. Mid-ruby with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and red plum fruits cut with five-spice, pressed purple flowers, watermelon, leaf litter, char siu, pomegranate juice and earth. Supple and medium-bodied on the palate with pure red fruit compote notes, an array of spice, fine tannins and a sapid, mouthwatering acid line. Drink by 2034.
