2023 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc that put New Zealand wine on the map has had a substantial packaging revamp. Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Leaping out of the glass are passionfruit, guava and grapefruit scents which are followed by some herbaceous gooseberry and subtle grassy asparagus like notes. Concentrated and texturally pleasing, the mouth watering palate is awash with gooseberry, passionfruit and grapefruit flavours. Lending further nuance are notions of asparagus, herbaceous grassy characters and flinty mineral elements. Excellent drive with crisp acidity, the finish long and scrumptious.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
