2023 Famille Hugel Classic Riesling

Energetic Riesling with frisky acidity and a mineral laced finish.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a subtle tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Lifted lime and red apple scents intermingle with hints of honeysuckle, quince and wet steel. Energetic lime and red apple skin flavours are underscored by frisky acidity. Some fresh pear, wet slate and mineral elements are spread across the back half. Finishes dry with a mineral laced aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

This is a wonderfully fresh and expressive dry riesling with a slew of citrus aromas, but also some spring flowers and meadows. The vivacity of the medium-bodied palate is as impressive as the depth in the long, crisp finish, where it bares its Alsace soul. Drink or hold.
