2023 Fin Wines La Nina Rose
Fin Wines, launched in January 2020 by JonJo McEvoy, Oliver Johns, and Angus Hean, is a fermentation collective based in Dixons Creek, Yarra Valley, on Wurundjeri Country. Focused on producing fresh, fun, and highly drinkable wines, ciders, and piquettes, they use minimal intervention techniques like spontaneous fermentation, no filtering, and minimal additives. The 10-acre vineyard, planted in the early 1990s on grey-red sandy loam over clay, is sustainably farmed to preserve soil and biodiversity. Its mix of south and north-facing slopes benefits from cooling influences from nearby hills.
This Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc is handpicked and wild-fermented in old oak, grown on the home block in Dixons Creek. Elegant and savory, it features delicate red berry flavors, hints of rose petal, a mineral edge, and crisp acidity.
