2023 Gilberts Estate Hand Picked Chardonnay

A gently creamed, mid weighted Chardonnay that’s underpinned by a fresh line of acidity.

Produced from 38 year old vines planted in 1985. Brilliant pale straw colour with straw green tinged edges and a watery hue. Elevated peach, nectarine and dried honey aromas are trailed by biscuity nougat, crème brulee and spice notes. Gently creamed in its feel and carrying medium body weight, a fresh line of acidity underpins fleshy peach, melon, dried honey and cashew flavours with some biscuity nougat elements, traces of crème brulee and spice also chiming in. Refined medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
