2023 Hay Shed Hill Block 6 Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Lifted white peach and nectarine aromas intermingle with hints of grapefruit, dried honey, biscuity nougat and flint. Fresh and elegant the mid weighted palate features nectarine, pear and dried honey flavours over a delicate roasted almond, citrus, biscuit and faint bees wax back drop. Vibrant in it’s feel it picks up some textural volume across the medium to long finish. Drink by 2033.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

This starts out rather fine and flinty with a light spray of citrus. Then it builds on the palate with layers of flavour from the oak, the lees and more fruit intensity. Mouth-watering sulphides, a stony sensation and racy acidity to the finish. Nice one.
