2023 Hill-Smith Estate Eden Valley Chardonnay

Around 50% of the blend was fermented and matured (for 10 months) in new (15% of the final blend) and 1-3 year old fine grained French barriques to add weight and texture, with the balance of the wine fermented in stainless steel to retain fruit freshness and vibrancy.

Brilliant very pale straw coloured core with a distinct greenish tinge to the outskirts and a watery hue. White peach and nectarine aromas mix with hints of dried honey, lime, subtle biscuity nougat and gun flint notes. Fleshy white peach, nectarine and melon fruits adorn the mid weighted palate with traces of biscuity nougat and gun flint lying underneath. Brisk acidity lending freshness to the elegant mid length finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
