2023 Josef Chromy Pinot Gris

Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Leaping out of the glass with great intensity are delightful pear and red apple scents which are followed by some musk, honeysuckle and faint ginger notes. Delicious pear, ripe apple and musk flavours carry a beautifully rounded feel across the palate with some delicate honeydew melon and ginger nuances lying underneath. Supplely textured and possessing excellent flavour intensity it finishes dry and fresh with a long richly fruited aftertaste that’s very moreish.|

An estate-sourced pinot gris, crisp and minerally with just a swagger of texture as it travels across the palate. Pear, red apple, melon, and grapefruit tones meld with hints of fennel, ginger, stone, white flowers, marzipan and persimmon. There's some great focus here and a real clarity and velocity to the wine's form, finishing dry and refreshing. A lot to like here.
