2023 Kooyong Beurrot Pinot Gris

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a delicate tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated ripe pear, red apple skin and musk aromas rise out of the glass followed by hints of quince and spice. Fresh pear and green apple fruits intermix with traces of lime and wet stone. Finishes dry with vibrant acidity lending an energetic feel to the elegant finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

A never-fail rendition of pinot gris although quite a tight, restrained style this vintage. Plenty of poached, candied and fresh pears all spiced up with ginger and cinnamon. A fine layer of lees adding to some palate weight and a light phenolic pull on the finish. Savoury, moreish and refreshing. Lovely drinking here. Drink by 2027.
