2023 Kyneton Ridge Reserve Pinot Noir
Perfumed aromatics with delicious, supplely textured red fruits and a medium to long finish.
Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a red to dark red hue. Perfumed nose with aromas of violet, red to dark cherry, strawberry and subtle anise sailing through the olfactory senses followed by fresh herb, spicy vanillin cedar and faint brambly forest floor like notes. Supple mid palate feel with delicious red cherry and winter strawberry fruits intermeshed with infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor and spicy cedar. Fresh underlying acidity and fine grained tannins with an amply fruited medium to long finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews…..
Boasts the lifted aromatic cool climate qualities of Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir with some oomph. Harmony reigns on the bouquet in chocolate and spice, black cherry and plum, five spice and aniseed. Runs generous and long with supple tannins allowing a good build-up across the palate of delicious, juicy red fruits, plum and spice with a pinch of dried herbs. A good follow up to the ’22 highlighting the estate’s rounded, soft hearted, fruit-filled Pinot Noir winemaking ethos. And like the ’22, has enough in reserve for the cellar as well as for earlier enjoyment. Based on a barrel selection from what was, according to general consensus, a terrific vintage with plenty of finesse on display in the region’s Pinot. Drink 2024-2030.
