2023 Lambert Chardonnay
Brilliant pale straw colour with subtle tinges of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Delightfully scented, alluring aromas of white peach, pear and crème brulee flood the nostrils followed by some dried honey, nougat and cashew like notes. Beautifully detailed the palate features a refined flavour profile of white peaches, fleshy pear and dried honey over citrusy nougat, spicy cashew and a delicate stony mineral character. Subtlety creamed yet elegant feel. Finishes dry, fresh and impressively long.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews…..
These wines don’t seem to get reviewed anywhere (he doesn’t need them to sell wine, and also doesn’t necessarily care), so I thought I’d get back in the saddle.
It’s a juicier iteration of this wine, offering plenty of Chardonnay flavour. It tastes of cling peach, lemon oil, pink grapefruit and has a distinct aniseed perfume, plus gentle spice. It’s a little bit creamy, a little bit nutty/savoury, though does have plenty of ripe grapefruit zing to it, a fine chalky grip, and plenty of length, with an almost Fruit Tingle buzz to it. Flavour with texture. Yum.
