2023 Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer
This luscious, intensely flavoured Gewurztraminer was sourced predominately from Lawson’s Home Block vineyard which was planted in 1981.
Brilliant water like colour with distinct highlights of green around the outskirts. Powerful and exotic, aromas of lychee, rosewater and musk engulf the olfactory senses with some Turkish delight and ginger notes also evident. Rich, concentrated and luscious in its feel the palate is swamped with delicious lychee, pear and Turkish delight flavours. Notions of musk, infusion of rosewater and ginger linger through the back half. Off dry finish with crisp acidity lending freshness to the long moreish conclusion.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews....
Fragrant, floral, fruity and classic bouquet with layers of spice and myriad white fleshed fruit scents. A silky texture touches the palate first then acidity layers in offering contrast and highlighting the spice qualities of the variety. Fruit flavours and a touch of white pepper reflect the bouquet, medium+-ish acid line, balanced, well-made, and ready to drink. Best from 2024 through 2028.
