2023 Mac Forbes Yarra Junction Pinot Noir
A light, pretty Pinot that finishes long, elegant and fresh.
Dark red core with black toned edges and a red purple tinged hue. Perfumed aromas of violets and rose petals mix with red to dark cherry, strawberry and anise. Some fresh herb, subtle forest floor and spice notes also chime in. Delicious red cherry and winter strawberry fruits decorate what is a light, pretty palate with infusions of fresh herbs, subtle anise and forest floor lying underneath. Gently supple in its feel, it has polished tannins and finishes long, elegant and fresh.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
From a single vineyard planted in 1995. Made with 10–20% whole bunches and three to four weeks on skins before being pressed to seasoned barriques for 11 months. A bright ruby red. A core of red and black fruits laced with blood orange and a little spice. You barely notice the whole bunches. Really fresh and brightly structured on the palate. This will be a cracking wine in another six or so months. Drink by 2032.
