2023 Ministry of Clouds Shiraz

After almost three decades of shared experience in the wine industry, Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood decided to have a crack at their own venture sourcing fruit mainly from high quality vineyards in McLaren Vale to produce wines under their Ministry of Clouds label. Incorporates approximately 18% whole bunches with maturation taking place in a combination of French oak hogsheads, puncheons, demi muids, foudres, and a concrete egg for a period of 7 months.
Dense midnight black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense dark plum and liquorice aromas infused with a mix of dried clove and fennel are trailed by some scorched earth and peppered dried meat elements. Rich and plush, the mid weighted palate is amply endowed with dark plum, liquorice, dark cherry and blueberry fruits which are flanked by dried herb, fennel, scorched earth and peppered meat characteristics. Velvet smooth tannins with a long seductively savoury conclusion.
