2023 Novum Pinot Noir
Supple, light and fresh, this is an elegant Marlborough Pinot that finishes long and savoury.
Dark red in colour with black toned edges and a bright red hue. Drifting through the nostrils are a mix of sour to red cherries and winter strawberries infused with a mix of fresh herbs, earthy graphite like notes, stalk and spicy cedar. Supple, light and fresh in its feel across the elegant palate, flavours of red cherry and strawberry meld into a discreet back drop of forest floor, brambly cedar, subtle clove and spice. Seamlessly integrated, fine grained tannins with a long savoury finish that has a polished feel to it.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews…..
Alluring red cherries, fig hearts and lingonberry jam. Fallen autumn leaves and raw cacao beans. A smattering of orange bitters and apple skin. Densely packed, powdery tannins stand tall amongst the freshness of crunchy acidity. There is a pumice stone mineral quality and plenty of length and line. This is only beginning to hit its straps and will cellar well for another few years. Novum are bursting from the gates and taking charge. Drink by 2030.
