2023 Paralian Blewitt Springs Grenache Shiraz
Deep midnight black dark red colour with a bright purple red hue. Lifted spicy dark raspberry, plum and red liquorice aromas intermingle with scorched earth, fennel and blackpepper notes. Rich juicy raspberry, plum and red liquorice fruits meld into an earthy dried herb and pepper back drop. Bright acidity with a sturdy tannin structure lending firmness to the lively red to dark fruited finish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
From a cool year, this is bright and forward, per the remit, but it’s agreeably restrained by the season. Pulpy and bright, this also has a gastronomic line of tannin and acidity, making it a mighty useful wine at table. Fresh red cherries, wild raspberries, sour plum and kirsch, white pepper, tar, coal dust, dried orange peel and bergamot tea. It’s a joyous thing, but I particularly like that it is evenly paired with a moreish sapidity. Lovely. Drink by 2028.
