2023 Pike & Joyce Lenswood Sirocco Chardonnay

A fresh, elegant and focused Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Nectarine, grapefruit and citrus aromas drift through the nostrils trailed by hints of biscuity oak and gun flint. Energetic grapefruit, green apple and citrus flavours line the palate which is shaped by vibrant acidity. Some infusions of gun flint and light biscuity oak lie underneath. Finishes elegant, fresh and focused.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

A fresh and bright chardonnay that leans into fruit purity, distinct minerality, freshness, light oak seasoning and a generally genial feel. It's an effortless drink and yet belies the quiet complexity found here, particularly in judicious woody spice, with the flinty and saline characters lending additional interest. Green apple, lime and just-ripe stone fruits are the underpinning. Very good drinking. Drink by 2032.
