2023 Primo Estate Il Briccone Shiraz Sangiovese

A marriage of rich plush shiraz fruit and Sangiovese’s muscular tannins and bright acidity.

A blend of 85% Shiraz and 15% Sangiovese matured for 12 months in older oak barrels.
Dense midnight black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of liquorice and red currant combine with some dusty earth, tobacco, dried herb and blackpepper notes. Rich liquorice and blackberry fruits are to the fore with notions of ripe plum, earthy tobacco, spicy Mediterranean herbs and pepper tailing off through the back half. The fleshy fruit counterpointed by muscular tannins and bright acidity. Excellent concentration with a plush yet chalky dry finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
