2023 Soumah Hexham Vineyard Marzemino

Bright juicy red to dark fruits with an energetic and spicy finish.

Deep midnight black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Expressive dark cherry and red plum scents infused with a mix of Mediterranean herbs, earth and spice fill the nostrils. Light to medium bodied, bright juicy red plum and cherry fruits meld into a dried herb and inky earth back drop that has a pinch of spice to it. Fresh acidity and slightly chalky tannins with an energetic, spicy red to dark fruited conclusion.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Soumah's second marzemino, made from vines planted in '18. Matured in French oak (10% new) for 12 months. A saturated crimson purple. Aromas of dark morello cherries, blackstrap licorice and spice. Medium bodied, this has good mid-palate intensity and is both a little lighter and a little fresher in the mouth than last year's debut. Drink by 2028.
