2023 Te Whare Ra TWR Sauvignon Blanc
Brilliant water like core with greenish tinged edges. Soaring from the glass are passionfruit, gooseberry and lime aromas which intermix with herbaceous grassy and flinty mineral notes. Mouth watering passionfruit, lime and herbaceous gooseberry flavours engulf the palate with grassy herbaceous and fresh Mediterranean herb infusions also chiming in. Crisp acidity counterpoints the wines concentrated fruit weight and textural presence. Finishes dry and long with a touch of minerality.
Drink over the next year.

Other Reviews....
80/20% Awatere/Wairau Valley fruit; 10% goes into oak for ferment. Blackberry leaf, Thai basil and yellow guava. Blueberry flesh, fennel and chalk. The palate is weighted with ripe passionfruit, nectarine and honeysuckle. This is ripe and rich. It's densely packed and acidity trots in line, enabling a long, slippery finish. A hint of celery salt and raw cashew on the finish with a smattering of lacey skin texture. Lots of value here, for the price tag, and a memorable wine. Drink by 2026.
