2023 Thompson Estate Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish tone to the edges and a watery hue. Nectarine, citrus and subtle grapefruit aromas intermix with hints of gun flint. Vibrant nectarine, citrus and green apple fruits are underpinned by zippy, mineral infused acidity with traces of gun flint also evident. Focused with a brisk, elegant feel it finishes dry, flinty and fresh.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

An absolutely cracking Marg River Chardonnay, which has spent time in a mix of French oak barrels, both new and older. Notes of lemon and peach, backed by stonefruits and exemplary, though very gentle, oak integration. There is good intensity, fine balance and seriously impressive length. Balance and focus, with a seamless structure and really appealing creamy texture. Enjoy this over the next three to six years. Drink 2024-2030.
