2023 Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay

Crafted from selected sites and clones with varying winemaking techniques and French oak barrels to produce a complex, harmonious, and typical Vasse Felix Margaret River Chardonnay.
Matured in French oak barrique and foudre, 5% new, with the balance 1-7 year old oak for a period of 7 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with glimpse of green around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and pear mix with delicate biscuity oak, citrus and gun flint notes. Mid weighted flavours of nectarine and pear are nicely fleshed with notions of biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and subtle infusions of gun flint also making an appearance. Brisk yet measured acidity with an elegant finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
