2023 XO Wine Co Small Batch Pinot Noir

Fruit was sourced from three vineyards in the Southern Adelaide Hills with a varying portion of whole bunch ferments for each parcel. Maturation took place in French oak (15% new) for a period of 7 months.
Semi translucent red to dark red in colour with a light red hue. Displaying a perfumed like intensity the nose offers up alluring aromatics of violets, red cherries, strawberries and subtle rhubarb which are followed by hints of anise, forest floor and brambly dried herbs. Silken and supple in its feel the delicious palate is layered with red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits. Subtle anise, rhubarb, forest floor and dried herb elements sit underneath. Excellent power wave with velvet smooth tannins and juicy acidity. Finishes long, expansive and spicy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

There was so much to love in this Pinot, from its complexity to its sapidity to its long length. With a ruby hue and a slight tinge of purple, it is bright in colour but also aroma, showing bountiful red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, confectionery, forest floor and musk. The palate is full of flavour yet it’s refined and not over the top, with the brightness of fruit carrying from the first sip to the last. A highly enjoyable wine.
