2024 Brokenwood Chardonnay
Generously fleshed and richly fruited with a refined creaminess to the long finish.
Fruit was sourced primarily from Beechworth (70%) with some additional inputs from the Yarra Valley (19%) and Hunter Valley (11%). It was fermented using natural yeast in French oak barrels, 22% new oak, with a small portion fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish glimmer to the edges and a watery hue. Flashy white peach, pear and dried honey scents sail through the nostrils trailed by some cashew, biscuity nougat and spice notes. Generously fleshed white peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours are delivered with ample concentration and textural volume. Layered across the back half are biscuity nougat, citrus and delicate spicy cashew elements. Good underlying freshness finishing long and richly fruited with a refined creaminess to it’s feel.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
