2024 Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc
2024 is the 35th vintage produced of this benchmark Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc. Fruit is sourced from Shaw & Smith’s estate vineyards at Balhannah and Lenswood, complimented by fruit from a small number of highly valued growers.
Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges. Jumping out of the glass are intense passionfruit, green apple and lime scents which have a subtle herbaceous grassy overlay. Hints of mineral are also apparent. Scrumptious passionfruit, green apple and lime fruit are delivered with terrific concentration over a back drop of delicate herbaceous grassy characters and a light minerality. Finishes dry with crisp acidity and a long moreish conclusion.
Drink over the next year.

Other Reviews.....
Perhaps one of Australia's most famed sauvignon blancs with a seemingly unnerving level of quality for the pricepoint. No slouch here, a zesty, fresh, bright and crisp rendering of the variety. Resplendent with passionfruit, just-ripe pineapple, lime and cut-grass characters between the bouquet and palate, very even, flows well, finishes with decent length and a light chalky pucker. Just so, done well, easy drinking and moderately complex to boot. Drink by 2028.
