A nicely fleshed fruit driven Tassie Chardonnay with brisk acidity.

Brilliant pale straw colour with flashes of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Ripe peach and apricot scents mix with some bees wax, citrus, cashew and spice notes. Fleshy peach, nectarine and melon fruits overlay a subtle bees wax, cashew and spice back drop. Brisk acidity with a long generous fruit driven finish that has a dash of spicy cashew to it.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews…..
Coal River Valley chardonnay. Light straw in the glass with inviting aromas of white peach, nectarine and citrus with hints of soft spice, white flowers, oatmeal, crushed stone, nougat, clotted cream and a wisp of struck flint. A picture of clarity and tension with a swoop of pithy texture, a mealy tide slowly retreating and some lovely grapefruit pith notes as the wine retreats. Drink by 2032.

Oh look at this wine coming in at a heady 13%. Joe is flying into the Danger Zone, like Kenny Loggins, although the label says it goes well with ‘Russian Hip Hop’. Unusually this is from down south, Coal Valley, rather than Tamar.
This has a bit more flavour than is usual, and the acidity seems a bit keener too, and really drives the wine along. There’s white peach, green apple, a saline edge, a flicker of aniseed and spice, along with some oatmeal savoury stuff and samphire. Sports some grapefruit and lemon peel on a finish of intensity and excellent length. Even as a young wine it offers complexity and no shortage of interest, though I reckon it may be better again with another year or two in bottle. Very good.
