7K Distillery Pinot Noir Cask Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)
Aged in a 100 litre x-Tassie Pinot cask for around four years, this is one of the distillery's oldest and largest barrels bottled to date. Tasted from a 20ml sample, nosing detects sweet malty aromas with a subtle raspberry jube character that continues on the palate. It's pure and soft through the middle with a lip smacking finish and cocoa in trail. In short, an accessible, tasty, broad-appeal whisky. The outturn was all of 222 bottles. 49.7% Alc./Vol.
Notes from the producers... Nose: Rich charred plums and pineapple open up the nose, before moving toward boozy toffee apple caramel and Toblerone. Palate: Sweet Cadbury chocolate and caramel hit before a transition to a cherry ripe & heavily stewed red delicious apples, doused in caramelized white chocolate. Finish: Warming cinnamon & pea hay linger on the finish with milk chocolate.
