Arran 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The second in a newly presented series of older age statements from Arran is also for many the new crown jewel - testified to by the fact that it's frequently sold out at the distillery's website (unavailable yet again at the time of writing!) Does Arran peak around twenty years? Probably, but we're yet to taste the 25, and it's too early to establish the limits for this distillate. Entirely matured in a mix of some of the distillery's oldest Sherry Butts, the 21YO comes appropriately presented in a handsome gift box. Expect rich, sweet flavours of dark chocolate, grapefruit, ginger, spices and figs. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... Mellow on the nose, with baked apple and toffee, then developing tropical fruits and icing sugar aromas in time. Sweet and balanced on the palate; spicy, with milk chocolate and peaches in syrup.
