Ashmolean Dry Gin (700ml)

A collaboration between The Oxford Artisan Distillery (a first for the district) and the Ashmolean Museum of art and archaeology. Inspired by the museum’s international collection, the gin features seventeen botanicals including jara lemon, rose, jasmine and spices from the Middle East and Asia, the latter complemented by the label illustration taken from Spray of ‘Morning Glory’ by Takeuchi Seiho, (a work in Ashmolean's Eastern Art collection). The distiller's aim is to source sustainably grown botanicals from within a 50 mile radius of their site.

Tasting note: Curious, slightly muted, earthy juniper-like aromas - also hints of lemongrass, green cardamom and rose hip. Follows in an elegant, light to medium bodied gin with good juniper input dovetailing into a spike of citrus zest and exotic spices. Ends warming, tangy and medium long. A nuanced style with a delightfully spicy finish. 40% Alc./Vol.
