Yet another brand produced at Distillerie des Moisans, a 60-hectare estate in the town of Sireuil, half of which falls in Cognac's Fins Bois sub-region. The family owned company makes Deau Cognacs, amongst other spirits and liqueurs. Cellar Master, Christophe Gauville plays with different methods of distillation and maturation, combining several eaux-de-vie to create well-balanced compositions. His experience with blending fine cognacs is evident in this deeply coloured, fresh and inviting brandy offering aromas and flavours of fruit mince pie, prunes, dried apricots and aged grappa with a crisp, lip smacking acid thread through the spicy finish. Beyond the plain presentation, it's a vibrant, fine-tuned and easily recommendable VSOP that needn't be reserved for mixing. 40% Alc./Vol.
