Blind Tiger Organic Shiraz Gin (700ml)

A second Australian Gin from a company better known for world class brandies - Angoves. Made using organically grown McLaren Vale Shiraz, half of the harvest was steeped in gin for a week in order to extract colour aroma and fruit sweetness. The other half was fermented for three days (following time honoured fortified wine techniques) then stopped by adding Blind Tiger Gin and macerated for another two days. Batches were pressed and blended. Nothing else was added. The resulting gin retains the juniper, spice and citrus lift of the original Blind Tiger Gin, only married with an unctuous red berry infusion. It's sweetness is balanced against the botanicals making it a novel and delicious alternative to traditional sloe styles. The relatively high ABV adds weight to the mouthfeel. If you're curious about the name, in the 1920’s Prohibition Era a “Blind Tiger” was an establishment known to illegally sell alcohol. 38.2 % Alc./Vol. Limited edition.
