The third expression released in the very successful 'Steamship' series, Bushmills Bourbon #3 Char Cask Reserve is the result of a long-standing relationship with the Master coopers at Louisville, Kentucky who reserve some of their best custom-charred x-bourbon casks to mature this unique Irish. The degree of char inside a cask can have a significant impact on a whisk(e)y's flavour, allowing the spirit to cycle deeper into the oak extracting wood-derived flavours. If the charring is done judiciously, the drinker is presented with a myriad of toasty, savoury, barbequed aromas and flavours.  In this case, expect subtle notes of toasted oak, spices and crème brûlée with a long, rich and smooth finish. 40% Alc./Vol. Big one litre format.
