Founded in 1824 by John Haig, Cameronbridge is the oldest grain whisky distillery in Scotland and remains the largest. Apart from producing one of only two proprietary bottled single grain Scotch whiskies available in the U.K. (Cameron Brig), Cameronbridge is ocassionally available from independent bottlers like Cadenheads. Wheat is sourced from the east coast of Scotland, while water is sourced from on site bores. Gin and vodka are also produced, with three Coffey stills and one Patent still currently in action. The house style is light, clean, fruity and flavourful.

We enjoyed the previous bottling of this whisky oddity. Given Cadehead's track record for selecting seriously good casks, we anticipate this to be quite unique. Blenders demand means grain whiskies are rare. Finding one at natural strength and with decent age behind it is a whisky completionist's dream.

Filled into a Bourbon hogshead in March 2009. Only 301 bottles produced. 59.4% Alc./Vol.
