Harvested late to ensure maximum flavor and natural sweetness, with only premium fruit meeting strict criteria being added to the solera, ensuring consistent quality. While the exact age of the wine is hard to define, the oldest base wine exceeds 70 years. The Isabella Rare, blended for optimal flavor and balance, is best enjoyed soon after opening and pairs well with coffee, strong cheeses, though it shines on its own. It offers rich honeyed flavors, complex rancio notes, and balanced sweetness with a dry finish.

Other Reviews....
A taste of pure decadence. Dark tawny in colour with the rising scent of warm sticky date pudding, malt extract, honey-rich fruitcake, and lifted, toffeed walnuts. Luxurious, velvety mouthfeel with rich, concentrated flavours that keep going on and on and on. World class. 375ml.

Jeni Port - Halliday's Australian Wine Companion

The NV ‘Isabella’ Rare Tokay offers a deep brown color with the slightest edge of green. The nose is complex with earthy loam and girolle aromas giving way to treacle, toasted hazelnuts and toffee. The palate is unbelievably sweet and viscous but there is also jaw-clenching acidity that perfectly balances that extreme unctuousness. Very long in the finish with layers of nut and spices really developing for those that can actually wait before taking another sip of this gorgeous nectar.
These fortified wines are all bottled to drink now. The extended solera aging process has rendered them relatively stable to changes and they can be stored for a good number of years.
