Canadian Club 6 Year Old Blended Canadian Whisky (1 Pint 6 Fl. Oz.)
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product pictured.
Note: No AVB stated.
Genuine novelty for fans of CC can be found in a circa 1970s bottling that actually has an age statement! We know that the modern day Canadian Club is light, mellow and simple, but this reads like it might deliver more oomph and complexity, at least according to whiskyfun.com.
Other reviews... Colour: gold. Nose: this is much fresher and ‘cleaner’ than the Crown Royal, more aromatic as well but there are similarities such as these notes of burnt wood and cologne. Gets much drier after a few seconds, slightly smoky and caramelly, with hints of vanilla and a little mint. Also notes of overripe apples. The whole is quite nice, globally more talkative than the Crown Royal. Mouth: much richer and creamier than the Crown Royal now. Vanilla crème and orange liqueur (Cointreau) with a little liquorice and milk chocolate plus a little apple juice. Slightly grainy as well. Finish: medium long, now more on apples and strawberries, very faint kirschiness. Some liquorice again in the aftertaste. Comments: a clean and relatively potent old Canadian Club, with a pleasant creaminess. A good dram. 79 points - whiskyfun.com
