Cardhu Limited Edition 21 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Famous as the malty middle used in the Johnnie Walker Blends, Cardhu is considered an excellent introduction for whisky novices. Now an extra aged cask strength edition turns that on its head. Capped at a production of 6000 bottles, this super-limited distillery release has us intrigued. Get ready for Cardhu as you've never seen before. Distilled 1991. Bottled 2013.

Other reviews... There appears to be a concerted effort to bring this distillery out of the shadows: A Good Thing in my opinion. This limited release is very Cardhu, with masses of mandarin, dried peach, and honey, reminiscent of a fine oxidized Chinese Phoenix Oolong tea, while still retaining the effervescent buzz of youth. Akin to a fine Cuban rum on the tongue, with bittersweet chocolate, dark cherry, and tangy, spicy life, it dies a little quickly, but is a lovely dram.
