Casamigos Blanco Tequila (700ml)

A new celebrity affiliated brand launched by George Clooney and Rande Gerber. The tequila is produced at the same distillery that makes well-known labels 'Avion' and 'Clase Azul'. Casamigos' first advertisement made an impact, featuring Clooney, Cindy Crawford, Kevin Bacon and others found in bed together after a night of imbibing, an image that sums up the 'relaxed' style of the collection. Aged for two months, the blanco pours with a clear / silvery blush. Intense aromas are waxy, peppery in the openings developing crushed chilli, mustard seed, dill pickle and semi-ripe pineapple. Entry is surprisingly rounded, vanilla-accented with beeswax, brine and a sappy agave, peppercorn burst to finish. Pineapple, gelato and light butter menthol lozenge aftertaste. Ends light, keenly balanced and fresh. Very accessible, this edges towards reposado. 40% Alc./Vol.

The aromas are restrained, but on the palate look for mild agave sweetness backed by lemon zest, ginger and white pepper sparks, plus a candied lemon-peel note on the gentle exit. 92 points - winenthusiast.com
