Cotswolds Barrel Aged Ginger Gin (500ml)

This gin goes into the same casks as Cotswolds' flagship Single Malt. These include first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and shaved, toasted and re-charred red wine casks (STRs). Maturation lasts three months. Following that, fresh Valencian orange peel and candied root ginger are soaked in the gin for several weeks. Finally, a touch of honey is added to sweeten before bottling.

Tasting note: A golden coloured gin with aromas of ginger chocolates, root beer, orange zest and lime peel over fresh juniper. On entry traditional gin notes arrive with hints of triple sec and subtle oaky astringency, dovetailing into a delicious spice wave. Ends ginger beer-like with budding warmth. Great purity and definition. Superb Winter gin. 46% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producer... Nose: Warm honey and sweet orange notes balance the fresh spicy ginger and piney juniper. Palate: Incredibly rich and luxurious, the ginger warms everything through, with vanilla and red fruit notes from the casks. Finish: A lovely long finish full of dry oak spice and ginger, with lots more honey.
