Crazy Uncle Moonshine (700ml)

Brothers-in-law Alasdair Malloch and James McKeown are behind Australia’s first dedicated bourbon-style whisky distillery. Set up in an East Perth warehouse, the Whipper Snapper Distillery is a $500,000 investment. Crazy Uncle is their first product to market. It will be another few years before we see their barrel aged whisky available.

Tasting note: Crystal clear. The toasted grain / olive bread / fruit and breakfast cereal sniff is lifted and pure with raisin loaf and hints of beeswax developing after aeration. Light entry builds to moderate intensity with a fruity-yet-dryish profile following through to a pleasantly spicy, beeswax finish and drying, mild fruit bread fade. Nicely balanced and with a soft mouthfeel - nothing like Moonshine at all! 40% Alc./Vol.
