Darroze Les Grands Assemblages 50 Year Old Bas-Armagnac (700ml)

One of the oldest wood aged spirits available in Australia today - at a reasonable asking price- can be found in this majestic 50 year old Bas Armagnac (the age statement here refers to the youngest Armagnac in the blend).

The diversity in crus, vintages, grape varieties and styles has allowed Marc Darroze to work on his "Les Grands Assemblages" (The Great Blends), chosen for their complementary characteristics, the selected armagnacs in each bottling are of different ages. Distilled from Ugni blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco 22 grapes, five decades in 400 litre barrels promises a multi layered brandy with chocolate, leather and roasted notes characteristic of exceptionally old eaux de vie.
